I was done with class for the day and headed home to make some lunch. As soon as I stepped outside, it hit me in the face... it was the exact smell that wafts into Houston randomly every year in late October. I looked down, realizing that I was wearing a sweater vest and shoes with socks, even in the bright sunshine of an early September day. And as I meandered home, I saw that somehow, without me noticing, all the leaves has started to succumb to that autumnal virus that sets them on fire. I picked up this particularly beautiful one... half green, with spots of yellow, red, and orange all over it.
It's officially fall.
... And to celebrate I made fried green tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and cornbread. Yep.
